Ycara, it is to our regret that such events are taking place. Our first meeting with these people of the federation went rather smoothly. So we all thought.
We are concerned how you could not have sensed this hostility toward us.
There is still not a sense of hostility by most of the creatures in the starship. Only
a few have real negative feelings and those seem to be of fear.
The concern which troubles me most is why we do not hear this loud noise that the people claim
is causing them so much discomfort. I have only heard a soft weeping on the air. Have you heard this also?
We have heard a sound on the air. It is quite unusual.
Not one of the graflas knows what to make of it or what could be the cause.
How can we make the strange creatures above our skies understand that we do not know
what is the problem or how to solve it?
We must however make arrangements to get all of the poddlings and the elders of our world to a place of safety. The
strangers have threatened to do us harm unless we stop the noise. It is our decision that they go in to the temple in the mountains. Even these strangers would not
cause harm in a holy place, surely. We must summon the young ones to get them there as soon as they can. They must return and help us to defend our world.
We have
retrieved the ancient writings and we are going to open the cavarns.
The caverns have been closed 15,000 years! Should we chance using the things which almost
destroyed our ancestors? Surely the elders of the hall can find another way. You are all so full of wisdom.
We are sorry Ycara, it has been decided. The young
ones must return quickly and learn of the horrible things we have there. They must be shown how to use the things to defend our world.
